VISTAS Scholarship Schemes 

Eligibility & Scholarship Details

All scholarships offered by VISTAS are applicable for the entire duration of the course (all years of study). All scholarships are subject to the terms and conditions of the VISTAS Admission Policy.

The V-SAT Scholarship is applicable for undergraduate programs only, except for Pharmacy and Marine courses. All PG courses, lateral, part-time, transfer and diploma students will not be eligible
for the V-SAT.
2Merit Scholarship

i) Merit scholarships are not applicable for collaborative programs. Merit Scholarships are applicable for undergraduate programs only, except B.Tech. IT, Pharmacy and Marine courses. All PG courses, lateral, part-time, transfer and diploma students will not be eligible for merit scholarships.

ii) A 10% scholarship in the tuition fee is offered to the students who secured marks above 75% in the 12th standard.
3Ishari Velan Merit ScholarshipVISTAS encourages meritorious students in all the programs by offering Ishari Velan Merit scholarships to the top 3 rank holders in each program. All the students from the first to the final year are awarded a merit certificate and a fee concession of Rs. 10000, Rs. 7500 and Rs. 5000 based on their performance and ranks in the end
semester examinations.
4Chancellor Merit ScholarshipFee concessions are applicable for undergraduate and postgraduate programs only, except for B.Tech. IT, Pharmacy, Collaborative Programs and Marine Courses. Based on the list of meritorious students received from Agaram, FEFSI, Maatram and other foundations/ NGOs scholarships are provided subject to the availability of the program.
Up to a 75% fee concession will be considered based on the
requests received from economically challenged categories and the film industry, subject to availability
5MOOC SCHOLARSHIPVISTAS offers scholarships for students who have successfully completed an MOOC course. This scholarship aims to recognize the hard work and commitment of those who have pursued knowledge
through NPTEL and other recognized online courses.
6First Graduate ScholarshipOffered to students who will eventually become the first graduates in their family. The eligible students have to submit the first graduate certificate obtained from the Tahsildar under the Tamil
Nadu government.
7Sports ScholarshipAt our university, we believe in fostering talent both on and off the field. That's why we are thrilled to introduce our Sports Scholarship Program, designed to recognize
and support exceptional student-athletes who demonstrate outstanding athletic
ability, leadership qualities, and academic excellence.
100% scholarship in the tuition fee is offered together with free hostel accommodation and meals.
If the total quota of allotments for sports scholarships is completely filled, then the remaining students will be considered for 75%, 50%, 25% and 10% scholarships.
Programs will be allotted to students, subject to availability. Remaining students will be given the option to choose other available programs.
The supportive documents submitted by the above candidates for
their participation and achievements at the international, national,
interuniversity and state levels and the medals obtained by them were considered for the evaluation of the merits of the candidate for admission under the sports quota.
The Director of Sports, Vels Group, and Director of Physical Education, VISTAS, will monitor and evaluate the performance of these students during their course of study. If they feel that their performance is not satisfactory, they will inform the authorities. The
authorities may decide on the continuation of the full fee concession.
8Alumni ScholarshipUG to PG / PG to PG students receive a 20% scholarship in the tuition fee and should submit the final semester results or consolidated mark sheets, which are given by the Controller of Examinations, VISTAS.
20% scholarship in the tuition fee for students who have completed schooling in Vels Group of Institutions.
Alumni scholarships are applicable for undergraduate and
postgraduate programs.
9Economically weaker section scholarshipCandidates who have passed qualifying examination (HSC or degree as applicable) in regular mode in FIRST ATTEMPT in the current year of admission, secured good marks, and students with an income of less than 5 Lakh are eligible for the scholarship. 20% to 100% scholarship in the tuition fee will be provided for the eligible
candidates
10Ex-Servicemen ScholarshipA 10% scholarship in tuition fees is offered to the children of ex- servicemen to honor their services.
The Ex-Servicemen Scholarship is applicable for undergraduate programs only, except Pharmacy, all other collaborative programs and Marine courses. All PG courses, lateral, part-time, transfer and diploma students will not be eligible for the Ex-Servicemen Scholarship.
A Certificate of Proof for an Ex-Serviceman has to be obtained from the necessary authorities and it has to be submitted for the Ex-
Serviceman Scholarship.
11CORONA WARRIOR
SCHOLARSHIP - A first of its kind initiative by VISTAS
The COVID-19 pandemic highlighted the critical role of frontline workers—nurses, doctors, police officers, sanitation workers, and other essential personnel.
These individuals stood at the forefront of the global response, risking their health and safety to ensure that healthcare systems, public safety, and essential services continued to function during the crisis. Scholarships dedicated to frontline workers and their families represent a meaningful way to honor their sacrifices, express gratitude and support the educational aspirations of their wards. 100
% scholarship was provided for the eligible candidates for the entire duration of their program. Our COVID-19 warrior’s scholarship became the first of its kind initiative in India and
encouraged various other institutions to follow suit.
12DIFFERENTLY ABLED SCHOLARSHIPEducation is a fundamental right and a powerful tool for personal and societal growth. However, for many individuals with disabilities, accessing education can present unique challenges. Differently-abled scholarships aim to break down these barriers by providing financial support and opportunities to students with disabilities, enabling them to pursue their educational and career goals.
13VELS EMPLOYEE WARD CONCESSIONThe purpose of the Employee Ward Concession Policy is to provide VISTAS employees with financial support for their children's education. Employees are entitled to a reduction in tuition fees for their children enrolled at VISTAS. The reduction percentage may
vary depending on the program and employee classification.
14SC/ST SCHOLARSHIPCandidates who belong to Scheduled Castes/ Scheduled Tribes who have passed Higher Secondary Education will be eligible and students with an income of less than 5 Lakh are eligible for the scholarship. The candidates will be provided with scholarships.
15TRANSPORT FREESHIPThis is a great initiative to help students commute to and from campus without incurring extra transportation costs. Providing such services not only makes it easier for students to access education but also reduces the environmental impact by encouraging the use of public transportation. It can also alleviate traffic congestion around the campus area
