The session on “AI in Industrial Revolution 4.0”, proved to be highly insightful and interactive, engaging students, faculty members, and research scholars alike. Dr. J Emerson Raja from Multimedia University, Malaysia, provided valuable insights into the transformative role of AI in Industry 4.0. The discussions highlighted opportunities for research collaboration, joint publications, and post-doctoral fellowships, fostering a stronger connection between academia and industry. The participants appreciated the opportunity to interact directly with the speaker, enriching their understanding and sparking innovative ideas for future projects.
The Department of Hotel & Catering Management and International Affairs at VELS Institute of Science, Technology & Advanced Studies (VISTAS) organized an International Guest Lecture on “Internship and Placement Opportunities”. The event featured distinguished resource persons, Mr. Frederick Young, Director of Global Education Management (GEM), UK, and Ms. Sharon Bunter, India Representative of GEM, UK. The session aimed to provide insights into global internship and placement prospects for students. The event was graced by key dignitaries along with senior faculty members and convenors from the institution.
VELS Institute of Science, Technology & Advanced Studies (VISTAS) hosted a significant Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony between the Penang State Government, Malaysia, the Commonwealth Youth Council (CYC), and VISTAS. The event was attended by senior officials from the Penang State Government, members of the CYC, and key leaders from VISTAS, including the Vice Chancellor, Pro Vice Chancellor, Registrar, Vice President, Director – International Affairs, and Director – Corporate Relations. This MoU aims to foster collaborations in education, youth empowerment, and innovation through academic exchanges, skill-building programs, and joint research initiatives. This collaboration marks a milestone in advancing international education and youth leadership efforts.
Faculty and research scholars from VISTAS presented their papers and participated as session chairs at the conference. VISTAS co-organized the Sixth Real-Time Intelligent Systems (RTIS) Springer Conference held at Tien Giang University. Additionally, VISTAS faculty and research scholars contributed by serving as session chairs during the event.
VISTAS had the privilege of hosting an initial-level meeting with Dr. T. Palan, Vice Chancellor of the University of Cyberjaya, Malaysia (QS Asia Rank 500), to explore collaboration opportunities in research, student and faculty exchange programs. The meeting, held at the Syndicate Hall, was attended by our Vice Chancellor, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Dean of Academics, Dean of IQAC, and Associate Dean of International Affairs and the team leaders of VISTAS.
VISTAS representatives had the incredible opportunity to visit the University of Cyberjaya. Together, we explored the potential for collaboration, and we’re thrilled to announce that MoU agreements have been finalized! This partnership aims to enhance our Pharmacy, Visual Communication (Viscom), and Medical courses, paving the way for innovative learning experiences and research opportunities.
VISTAS hosted a significant meeting with a delegation from Macquarie University (World top QS rank 133) to discuss foundational aspects of cybersecurity. The International Affairs team, as well as senior members from the School of Computing Science and Computer Science Engineering have attended the meeting.
Dr. S. Preetha, Professor, Department of MBA, visited Arizona State University, USA. Met Dr. Kate Eaton, Associate Dean of Graduate Programs and Professor of Marketing to explore the possibilities of collaboration between VISTAS and Arizona State University.

International Affairs of VISTAS organized a seminar on Engineering Projects in Community Services, delivered by Dr. William Oakes, Professor at Purdue University, USA. Various sessions were planned to introduce and implementation of EPICS to the student community. Additionally, Professor Oakes discussed the inclusion of EPICS in the syllabus with department heads and engineering research professors.
VISTAS organized an online Interactive Forum on “Navigating Top QS Universities – An Insight” Vels Alumni studying abroad at top ranking universities were invited as speaker to share their experience and provided guidance to the students.
