AVISHKAR 2.0, an Intra Institutional Technical Project Expo was held on 16th March 2023. The event was inaugurated in the presence of Dr. S. Sriman Narayanan, Vice-Chancellor, Dr. M. Bhaskaran, Pro Vice-Chancellor, Dr. P. Saravanan, Registrar, VISTAS. The event commenced with the ribbon cutting followed the lighting of the lamp by dignitaries.
Students from School of Engineering, Basic Sciences, Life Sciences and Pharmaceutical Sciences submitted their abstracts and around 200 registrations were received. Out of 200 abstracts, 25 abstracts from Engineering and 25 abstracts from Science were selected by the Scrutinising team and all the 50 projects were displayed on the day of AVISHKAR. The event was organised to incite innovative thinking among students. The event provided equal opportunity for students hailing from areas of both Engineering and Science. The displayed prototypes of Engineering were judged by Dr. P. Senthilkumar, Associate Professor, Madras Institute of Technology and prototypes of Science were judged by Dr. R. Radha, Principal, Madras Medical College, Chennai.
The Valedictory function was officiated and graced by Dr. Preethaa Ganesh, Vice President, Vels Group of Institutions in the presence of the dignitaries on the dais, Dr. S. Sriman Narayanan, Vice-Chancellor, Dr. M. Bhaskaran, Pro Vice-Chancellor, Dr. R. Radha, Principal, Madras Medical College and Dr. P. Senthilkumar, Associate Professor, Madras Institute of Technology. Dr. M. Monisha, Assistant Professor, Department of ECE gave the welcome address.
The proceedings of AVISHKAR 2.O was released by Dr.Preetha Ganesh, Vice President, Vels Group of Institutions.
The winners of AVISHKAR 2.0 were felicitated with a cash prize of Rs. 10,000, Rs. 7,500 and Rs. 5000 as first, second and third prizes respectively. Three winners were chosen from Engineering and Science each. Details of the prize winners are as follows.
