The Department of Life Science  was established in 1993 with the goal of developing outstanding bioscience professionals with values and grooming them to become future scientists for the betterment of humanity. The Department is organized into four departments: Biochemistry, Bioinformatics, Biotechnology, and Microbiology, all of which are led by highly qualified professors. Department of Life Science also has one Research Centre, The Centre for Fish Immunology. The Departments are furnished with well-equipped laboratories, advanced research facilities, sophisticated services, and computing and networking capabilities. Higher education, research, and industrial consulting are areas where the Departments excel. The highly qualified faculty members have extensive knowledge of both theoretical and experimental research approaches. The Department is dedicated to excellence in PG and UG education as well as research. Our close ties with many industries ensure that students receive rigorous, relevant training in their fields and are prepared to enter the workforce.
