Dr. G. Gayathri

Dr. G. Gayathri with over 27 years of experience in academics currently holds the position of Head i/c of the Department of Microbiology. She obtained her PhD from Bharathiar University. She is a rank holder in PG Microbiology, University of Madras. Her thrust area of research is on antibiotic resistance and biofilms. Her current area of research includes chitosan based nanoemulsions and quantum dots on quorum quenching. She is guiding scholars working on bacterial pathogens and cancer.  She has published research articles in international peer reviewed journals and is a member of various professional bodies. She has presented many papers in national and international conferences and has won many awards. She has organized national and international conferences and workshops funded by DBT, Govt. of India.
