Dr K Ashok Kumar

Dr K Ashok Kumar pursued his undergraduate and post-graduate studies at D G Vaishnav College, Chennai in 2000 and 2002 respectively. He earned a doctoral degree from Bharathiar University in 2015. He has qualified the state-level eligibility test (SET) conducted by Mother Teresa University in the year 2016. Besides endured 19 years of teaching experience, is currently serving as Associate Professor in the Department of Biotechnology at VISTAS since July 2018, and has been endorsed Head i/c from March 2024. Furthermore, he is expertise in Clinical Oncology and Environmental Biotechnology specialising in Vermitechnology. Currently his research interests include the Screening of Herbal compounds for anti-cancer activity and analysing the different environmental wastes as substrates for vermitechnology. As well, he has published 35 research and review articles in peer-reviewed, Scopus and SCI-indexed journals. Similarly published two books and 14 book chapters in the reputed publications to his credits. He is also reviewer in the highly referred journals such as Environmental Research (IF: 7.7) and Pathology (IF: 3.6) (Elsevier publication) and in International Journal of Recycling of Organic Waste in Agriculture a reputed journal with IF of 1.2.  At present, he is guiding six research scholars for the degree of Ph.D. He is associated as a Member in Einstein Research Academy (ERA), American Society for Microbiology and European Biotechnology Network with a Life Member in India Nano Biologysts Association. In addition to his experience has received the research grant of 16,67,404/- from Department of Biotechnology, New Delhi and also organized program and research project with financial assistance from TNSCST, Chennai
