Dr. K. Kalaivani

Dr. K. Kalaivani completed B.E from VIT, Vellore., M.E from Vels Institute of Science, Technology and Advanced Studies and Ph.D from VIT, Chennai. She received a Gold Medal for being the topper in M.E (Computer Science and Engineering). She has undergone an International Internship in Universiti Malaysia Perlis, Malaysia in April 2015. She received the appreciation award continuously from the year 2015 from VISTAS and also received the Women Empowerment award, Young Educator and Researcher Award from external agencies. She received a grant of Rs. 10 lakhs from AICTE RPS for a project titled “IoT based Intelligent Networking System”. She has also completed the seed grant project on “Robosect”, “Online Entrance Examination” funded by VISTAS. She has published 5 patents. She has presented a paper in the International Conference organized in Siam University, Thailand. She has published around 35 articles including SCI and Scopus indexed Journals and 10 articles in UGC journals. She has presented around 25 articles in national and international conferences. She has around 15 years of experience in teaching for Engineering and Science students in VIT, Vellore, Sree Sastha Institute of Technology and Vels Institute of Science, Technology and Advanced Studies. Her research interests include image processing, remote sensing, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. She has taught various courses like Programming Languages – C, C++, Java, Structured Query Language, Design and Analysis of Algorithms, Unix Internals, Software Engineering, Database Management System, Data Structures, Machine Learning, Data Warehousing and Data Mining. She has received certifications from Coursera and NPTEL for the successful completion of various courses like Machine Learning, Programming in Python, IOT & Embedded Systems and Database Management Systems. She has completed the course on “ReEngineering Teaching Skills” conducted by the Centre for Faculty Development, College of Engineering, Guindy. She is an active member in professional bodies such as CSI and IAENG.
