Dr.Malarkodi Velraj.Ph.D degree holder in Pharmaceutical Sciences was awarded by Dr.MGR MedicalUniversity inthe year 2013. Having 30 years of experience and has served as Associate Professor, Professor in reputed institutions and presently serving as Professor &Head department of Pharmacognosy, School of Pharmaceutical sciences, VISTAS, Chennai since June  2005.The current thrust area of research interest includes the scientific studies of crude drugs obtained from Plants and marine organisms which involves the Pharmacognostical studies, Quality control, Standardization, isolation, characterization of phytoconstituents by TLC, HPLC,HPTLC, Column chromatography, formulation, and development of green synthesis of nanoparticles in special cases like cancer and evaluation of various biological activities. .Published more than 70 articles in International and National peer reviewed journals. Produced 8 Ph.D scholars for her credit. Reviewer in various journals like Journal of Applied Pharmaceutical Sciences and Journal of Natural Remedies.Have Published 4 books , 6 book chapters and 4 patents.She is a Life Member of Indian Pharmacy Graduate Association (IPGA), Life Member in Association of Pharmaceutical Teachers of India (APTI), Registered Pharmacist in Tamil Nadu Pharmacy Council, Member of American Society of Microbiology, Life Member of Indian Pharma Educational Society (IPES) And Life Member of Association of Pharmacy Professionals (APP).
