Dr. P. Murugan

Dr. P. Murugan is a distinguished academician with a rich background in Commerce and Management Studies. He holds a Master of Commerce (M.Com) degree from the University of Madras, Chennai, and an MBA with a specialization in Finance from Bharathiar University, Coimbatore. Dr. P Murugan further advanced his academic credentials by earning a Doctoral Degree (Full-time) from the University of Kerala, Thiruvananthapuram, in 1996.

Dr. P Murugan’s career spans over 28 years in academia, supported by 6 years of intensive research experience. He has served as an Associate Professor & Head in both Government and Private institutions, where he has significantly contributed to the academic community. Since 2023, he has been serving as the Professor and Head of the BBA Department at Vels Institute of Science, Technology & Advanced Studies (VISTAS), where he continues to lead and inspire.

A prolific researcher, Dr. P Murugan has guided 16 PhD scholars from various universities across India, specializing in the fields of Commerce and Management. His contributions to research are further highlighted by the three patents he holds. Dr. P Murugan has an extensive publication record, with over 20 research papers published in reputed journals, including those indexed by UGC Care, Scopus, and Web of Science (WOS).

In addition to his research and teaching accomplishments, Dr. P Murugan is also a seasoned content writer. He has authored several textbooks used by the University of Madras and Tamil Nadu Open University (TNOU), underscoring his expertise and influence in the field of education.
