Dr. S. AMBIKA KUMARI – Professor and Dean(School of Law)

Dr. S. Ambika Kumari, Professor and Dean, School of Law, VISTAS has completed her LLM from University of Kerala in 1982. She did her Ph.D in Law (Administrative Law) from the Pondicherry Central University in 1998. She was selected as Lecturer in Law in Government Law College, Pondicherry by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) in 1992 and she served the Pondicherry Government Service up to 2016. In the year 2017, she joined Kerala Law Academy as a Professor.

Dr. S. Ambika Kumari joined VISTAS, as Director of School of Law in 2018, and was subsequently promoted as Dean, School of Law in 2019. She has a research experience of 26 years, and teaching experience of 38 years. So far, 15 research scholars completed Ph.D. in Law under her guidance, Presently she is guiding 8 Ph.D. candidates in VISTAS. She has guided nearly 500 LL.M dissertations. She has been the Chairperson for conducting Ph.D. Viva-Voce public defence examinations in Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University, Kerala University, Saveetha University etc. She was called as a subject expert in the selection process for the post of Associate Professor under the Kerala Government Service. Dr. S. Ambika Kumari has published 56 articles in various national and international journals, participated and presented papers in international and national conferences. She has published four books each, in Administrative Law, Family Law, Civil Procedure Code and Criminal Law. Her expertise are in the subjects such as Administrative Law, Constitutional Law, Family Law, Criminal Law, Intellectual Property Law and Law of Evidence.
