Vels University Campus

VISTAS is one of the best multi-disciplinary deemed to be university is Chennai has a huge campus spread across 29.8 acres of land and a built-up area of 1,15,171 square meters. It has 342 Spacious Classrooms, 173 Laboratories, 2800 Computers & Laptops, 125 Printers, 35 Overhead Projectors, 275 LCDs, 1110 Mbps High-Speed Wi-Fi Internet Connection all over the campus. There are 30 Smart Class Rooms, 5 Fully Air-Conditioned Auditoriums, 6 Seminar Halls, 1 Ship in Campus, 4 Health Centres, Free Clinic, ATMs, and 5 Well Equipped Conference Halls. To overcome unexpected downtime of the electricity grid, the university’s power is strengthened up by two separate generators with capacities of 200 kW & 400 kW.

Auditorium

VISTAS has one of the best auditoriums that any University could offer. There are four large auditoriums that our students get to enjoy on campus. The Shivalayaa is one of the largest auditoriums. It is fully air-conditioned having a  seating capacity of 1500. It is used to hold various curricular, co-curricular, and social activities like workshops, conferences, intra-universities, and inter-universities cultural fests. Shivalayaa has also hosted several Guinness record attempts as well. Vels University created a world record for the longest hair extension in Shivalayaa.

There are two huge lecture theatres where many events, seminars, presentations, conferences, video presentations are held. Apart from this, we have an exclusive independent, air conditioned  auditorium at the MBA Department for our management students with 200 seating capacity for lectures and seminars. The science department holds four different lecture theatres within the department where conferences, guest lectures, group activities are conducted. For our star night events, cultural occasions and the events that accumulate a large crowd there is an open-air auditorium The Velan Arangam which houses up to 15000 people. Every year the grand annual intercollegiate occasion ‘The Nakshatra’ takes place where students from various parts of the country join to participate. Chief celebrities from the film industry have graced us with their presence and have also judged the events. With 4,525 participants a new Guinness world record of the Largest Bharatha Natyam Dance was set on the grounds of Vels University in the year 2017.VISTAS also offers its auditorium for community welfare programmes as a part of the philanthropic effort to conduct events of social interest and welfare.

Conference Halls

VISTAS campus has 6 Well-equipped, state-of-the-art air-conditioned conference halls with the latest audio-visual equipment. The great infrastructure helps in making the seminars and conference sessions more lively and attractive. These facilities include

Cafeteria

The cafeteria is a very significant meeting and discussion place for any institute. Students get refreshments and use the space and time to make informal discussions and knowledge sharing. VISTAS Cafetaria provides delicious and healthy food service. We have three good cafeterias within the campus

• Spice kitchen (7am – 7pm)
• Kaassi Bhavan (7am – 8pm)
• Jeevan Sandwich (9am – 5pm)

Our catering provides good quality, hygienic foods for breakfast and lunch with quick service. One can choose among mind-blowing chats, yummy sandwiches, healthy fresh fruit juices or a quick cup of tea/ coffee.

Transportation

VISTAS campus is located in the heart of the city. The University is located just one kilometre away from the Pallavaram railway station and only two kilometres away from the Chennai International airport. It has a local bus stop within one kilometre of campus. The university transport offers more than 150 buses which connect to various parts of the city. The students are also permitted to come by their two-wheelers and four-wheelers. The premises have a huge parking space for the students as well as the faculties and other visitors.
