Dr. C. Jothi Venkateswaran, an eminent academician and administrator, has dedicated over three and a half decades of his professional life to the field of higher education. With a distinguished career spanning 36 years of teaching and 34 years of administrative experience, he has served in multiple key leadership positions, including Principal (Grade I), Regional Joint Director, Joint Director (Planning & Development), and Director of Collegiate Education(FAC), Tamil Nadu. His academic journey reflects a blend of scholarship, leadership, and innovation in educational administration.

He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Alagappa University (2006), M.Phil. in Computer Science from Bharathidasan University (1995), and an M.Sc. in Computer Applications from Alagappa University (1988). Beginning his teaching career in 1989 at Government Arts College, Karur, he steadily advanced to become Associate Professor and Head at Presidency College, Chennai, before assuming higher administrative roles. His contributions as Principal at Periyar Arts College, Cuddalore, Government Arts College, Karur, and Government Arts College (Autonomous), Nandanam, have been widely recognized for academic expansion, infrastructural development, and community engagement.

He is credited with establishing innovative academic programmes, including the BCA course for hearing-impaired students and research departments offering M.Phil. and Ph.D. in Computer Science at Presidency College. He has been instrumental in introducing inclusive educational practices, such as computer training programmes for visually challenged students, remedial coaching for disadvantaged groups, and ICT-driven initiatives like EDUSAT interaction facilities. His administrative acumen is evident from his pivotal role in policy implementation, curriculum development, staff recruitment, institutional inspections, and academic governance across Tamil Nadu’s higher education sector.

As a researcher and mentor, Dr. Jothi Venkateswaran has guided 23 Ph.D. and 47 M.Phil scholars and has published extensively in reputed national and international journals. His research spatial data mining, artificial intelligence, and neural networks, with a patent awarded for the “Design of Master Slave Back Propagation Neural Network.” With over 80 research papers and two co-authored books, his scholarship has been widely cited, particularly on platforms like Google Scholar and Research Gate.
