VISTAS Library

VISTAS Library serves as a creative and innovative partner in supporting teaching, learning and research activities of the institution. It is the liveliest place on the campus providing a conducive environment that enables learning and advancement of knowledge. The pleasant ambiance and the well-furnished library with spacious reading rooms create an atmosphere of serenity and thereby inspire intellectual and research activities. The vast collection of books at VISTAS Library spans the fields of Engineering and Technology, Medical, Nursing, Physiotherapy, Allied Health Sciences, Agricultural Sciences, Management, Science and Humanities, and Law. These resources include textbooks, reference books, rare books, periodicals, reference manuals, ancient books, manuscripts, digitalized traditional manuscripts, and other knowledge resources. All resources can be accessed online or offline. Every campus has a contemporary library with a good collection of books, aside from the main library on campus. All in-house operations of the library are fully computerized using the KOHA library management software that also provides web-based access to the catalogue of all libraries. It has a RFID-based automated library system and a wide variety of printed and electronic collections catering to the needs of all the stakeholders.

Access to e-books, e-journals, databases, etc., is provided with the VISTAS Library portal. The library website also provides information about resources, services, rules & regulations. All resources are accessible locally within the campus as well as remotely.

VISTAS Library has a well-equipped digital facility consisting of 50 systems. Facilities for scanning, storage & printing including high-speed LaserJet Network printers are available in the Library. The library is completely connected to an excellent Wi-Fi network. It has advanced IT facilities with adequate systems loaded with licensed operating systems and software packages. The power infrastructure is supported with a heavy-duty uninterrupted power supply for all systems and servers to avoid data loss.

VISTAS Library provides and promotes access to SWAYAM PRABHA 40 DTH Channels. The SWAYAM PRABHA is a group of 40 DTH Channels devoted to telecasting high-quality educational programmes on a 24×7 basis using GSAT-15 satellite.

The Central Library built a subject gateway to strengthen the digital platform and teaching process. It is an online service that provides searchable and browsable catalogues of Internet-based resources. This digital portal removes barriers to higher learning outside the campus by unlocking the door of freedom to learn anywhere at any time. The portal links to various open-source resources such as open access e-journals and e-books which are categorized according to each school.

VISTAS is maintaining the Institutional Digital Repository – that serves as a showcase of the output of academic pursuits of its faculty members, research scholars and students. It manages and disseminates digital material created by VISTAS Library and its community members

E-Knowledge Resource Centre is to advance the e-learning experience which allows easy access to a variety of both online and offline learning materials in a productive manner.
