He was recruited as a Sub-Inspector of Police after completing basic training and was posted in Thirunelveli District from 1988 to 1992. During this period, he handled various responsibilities, including law and order, crime, and traffic management. From 1992 to 1999, he served in the Chennai City Police, managing law and order at police stations and working in the Prohibition and Enforcement Wing. His exemplary service earned him 232 rewards, 34 Good Service entries, and 2 Meritorious Service entries.
From September 1999 to 2014, he served as an Inspector of Police in various police stations across Kanchipuram District, Cuddalore District, Villupuram District, Tambaram City Police, and Chennai City Police. Subsequently, he was promoted to Assistant Commissioner of Police for the Saidapet Range, a position he held from 2014 to 2016. During his tenure as Assistant Commissioner, he effectively secured the detention of hardcore criminals under the Tamil Nadu Act 14 (The Tamil Nadu Prevention of Dangerous Activities of Bootleggers, Cyber Law Offenders, Drug Offenders, Goondas, Immoral Traffic Offenders, Sand Offenders, Sexual Offenders, Slum-Grabbers, and Video Pirates Act, 1982). Additionally, 992 criminals were convicted through judicial prosecution under his leadership, with each case being proven beyond a reasonable doubt in judicial courts. He retired from police service in 2016.
Post-retirement, he transitioned into the corporate and healthcare sectors, serving as Chief Vigilance Officer at BMW Car Company in Mahindra City, Chennai (2016-2018), and Flextronics Cellphone Manufacturing Company in Sriperumbudur, Chennai (2018-2020). From 2020 to 2022, he held the position of Chief Security Officer at Vijaya Hospital and Vijaya Health Centre.
Since 2022, he has been serving as the Director of Discipline and Safety at VISTAS. In this role, he oversees student discipline and campus safety, with a focus on preventing drug influence, protecting students from anti-social elements, minimizing conflicts, and addressing issues such as ragging, eve teasing, and theft. His responsibilities also include managing campus traffic, regulating student activities, investigating thefts, recovering stolen property, and addressing traffic obstructions on PV Vaithiyalingam Road and Tharkar Road.
He ensures the safety of students during university events and oversees the safety of children at Vels Vidyasharam School, managing traffic flow and parking for parents. He collaborates with teaching and non-teaching staff to coordinate departmental and university-wide events, including functions at Shivalaya and Velan Arangam. Additionally, he implements directives from top management and frequently visits the Thalambur and Periyapalayam campuses to ensure safety, discipline, and security across the institution.
