Prof. Dr. M. Chandrasekaran graduated with a Ph.D from the National Institute of Technology, Trichy, India. He has more than 24 Yrs of Experience in various levels, and from Sept 2011 till now, he has been a Professor and Dean of Academic Courses at Vels Institute of Science, Technology and Advanced Studies, Chennai. His area of expertise includes Job Shop Scheduling, Optimization, and Heuristics. Current research interests include multi-objective optimization of Job Shop Scheduling, Flexible Manufacturing systems, and Composites. He has published more than 180 publications in international and local scientific journals. He has also served as Keynote Speaker, Programme Committee Chair, Technical Committee member, and Session Chair in various international Conferences. He is also an editor-in-chief for several international journals, such as the International Journal of Production Technology and Management Research (IJPTMR) and the International Journal of Mechanical Engineering and Material Sciences (IJMEMS). He has filed nearly 14 patents, out of which seven were awarded. He has completed a funded project worth Rs 16,59,000/- to CVRDE, DRDO, Chennai, and an ongoing DST Project worth 2.66 crores. He is an active Reviewer for the International Journal of Advanced Manufacturing Technology (IJAMT), Springer Link, International Journal of Production Research (IJPR), Taylor & Francis, International Journal of Information Sciences (IJINS), Elsevier and reviewed more than 100 Research Papers. He is also an approved research supervisor who guides research scholars. He has guided 28 research scholars in the field of Mechanical Engineering. He is also a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers (FIE), the National Institution for Quality and Reliability (MNIQR), the Indian Society for Technical Education (MISTE), the International Association of Engineers (IAENG), Indian Institute of Production Engineers (IIPE) and National Foundation for Entrepreneurship Development (NFED).  He has received various awards, namely the Distinguished Educator and Scholar Award from the National Foundation for Entrepreneurship Development (NFED), the Dr. Abdul Kalam Scientific Excellence Award from Marina Labs.
