The Department of Marine Engineering was established in the year 2005 and was  Graded “A1” Outstanding by the Ministry of Shipping, Govt. of India.  The four-year B.E.Marine Engineering course, approved bythe  DG Shipping, Ministry of Shipping, Government of India,is a programme leading to Class IV Marine Engineer Officer Certificate of Competency, awarded by the Ministry of Shipping, Government of India, and after six months of sea service the cadets are pruned  to become Marine Engineers on board the Merchant Naval ships anywhere in the world. This programme is strictly residential.
