Introduction:
The 13th Annual Convocation marked a significant milestone in the academic journey of Vels Institute of Science, Technology & Advanced Studies. The Founder Chancellor, Dr. Ishari K. Ganesh, presided over the mega event. It served as a platform to honor the achievements and hard work of our graduates while celebrating the academic excellence and dedication of the entire institution. The event brought together faculty members, staff, students, families, and distinguished guests to acknowledge the accomplishments of our graduates and the progress made by the institution over years. The Convocation commenced with a welcome address and Annual report by our Vice Chancellor.
Chief Guest Address:
The Chief Guest Convocation Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman, Hon’ble Minister of Finance and Minister of Corporate Affairs, Government of India delivered the Convocation address. Her speech emphasized the importance of lifelong learning, embracing change, and utilizing one’s skills and knowledge to make a positive impact on society. She further explained with proper statistics, the various achievements made in the Education sector by the Govt. of India over the last 9 years, including the number of medical college opened in the recent past. The address motivated the graduates to embrace their future endeavours with enthusiasm, determination and a commitment to continuous personal and professional growth.
Graduates and Achievements:
During this Convocation, more than 4300 students were awarded degrees across various disciplines viz. Engineering, Science, Commerce, Management, Law, Education, Pharmacy, Marine, Physiotherapy, Arts etc. In this cohort, more than 150 were awarded Ph.D degrees. This diverse group of graduates had exhibited their exceptional academic performance, leadership qualities, and a deep sense of community engagement.
Honorary Doctorate Degrees
In every Convocation, VISTAS used to honour eminent personalities with Honorary doctorate degrees in recognition of their service in the chosen filed. In this convocation, Thiru. R. S. Munirathinam, Chairman, RMK Group of Institutions, Thiru. Girish Mathrubootham, Founder & CEO, Freshworks, Smt. Anju Bobby George, Indian Athlete, Vice-President of the Athletics Federation of India were awarded with degree of Doctor and Thiru. Dr. M. Ramalingam, Professor, Urology Dept., Hindusthan Hospital Doctor of Literature(Honoris Causa) was awarded with degree of Doctor of Science(Honoris Causa).

Dr. Preethaa Ganesh , Vice President- Vels group of Institutions , Dr. A. Jothi Murugan- Pro Chancellor (Planning and Development), Dr. Arthi K.Ganesh, Pro Chancellor – Academics, Dr. S. Sriman Narayanan, Vice Chancellor, Dr. M. Bhaskaran, Pro- Vice Chancellor, Dr. P. Saravanan, Registrar and Dr. A. Udhayakumar, Controller of Examinations graced the occasion.
