On behalf of the Management, faculty, staff, and students of Vels Institute of Science, Technology and Advanced Studies (VISTAS), I welcome you to this outstanding institution of higher learning.
VISTAS is offering a number of innovative courses in emerging areas which includes 62 UG Programmes, 37 PG Programmes and Ph.D Programmes. through its 16 Schools in Arts, Science, Engineering, Management, Law, Education, Pharmacy, Maritime Studies, Hotel and Catering Management, Physiotherapy and Music & Fine Arts. Choice Based Credit System is in vogue in VISTAS, thus making the courses student-centric and hence they have the freedom to choose courses of their interest. The Industry – Institution interaction is very strong making it easier for the students to get Internships and placements in the industry. Some of the courses are also being taught in collaboration with industries. The teaching-learning process is effectively ICT enabled and focused on Learning management system, Knowledge management system, Blended teaching, flipped classroom model and e-Resources through Moodle. Edusat based classrooms are functional in all the departments.
VISTAS has highly qualified and dedicated faculty members, not only are they great teachers, in addition they are well-known researchers, presenters, and artists in their own right. We are acknowledged for our quality instruction and you will have many opportunities to work closely with this dedicated group of educators. A good library with rich resources and a Central Instrumentation Laboratory with sophisticated analytical instruments place the institute in a higher pedestal for students with Innovative attitude and Research aptitude.
