In short, the department caters to those aspiring CFOs and CAs in providing the right subjects in the right proportion, and ably guided by a set of experienced and highly motivating faculty, the department is a credit to the college.

Mission

  • The Department of Accounting and Finance provides students with the Bachelor of Commerce degree, with a substantial amount of specialization in the fields of accounting and finance.
  • This course is particularly suitable for those who wish to pursue a career in finance, most commonly, aspiring CA/CWA students.
  • This is mainly due to the course content, where greater emphasis is laid on such subjects that would help develop a career in these fields.
  • To enable the students to obtain a good understanding of how the financial aspects of a business need to be managed
  • To create nurture Accounting and Finance professionals who possess a high level of knowledge and competence to effectively contribute to society with commitment and integrity.

  • Students will demonstrate a general tax consciousness, including an understanding of  the role of taxation in society and the development of skills related to the recognition  of the tax problems..
  • To familiarize with communication motivation and leadership towards directing and to  analyze the process of controlling system.
  • Formulating business problems and provide innovative solutions and molding the  students into future visionaries and Management leaders.
  • Students will learn relevant Advanced accounting career skills, applying both  quantitative and qualitative knowledge to their future careers in corporates.

  • Courses of this program provide bright future in the IT fields, Software, Banks,  Companies, BPOs and KPOs.
  • This program courses consist of both theoretical as well as good practical exposures  to the students in the relevant areas to meet the industries expectations.
  • Courses of the program provide the cost benefit analysis and SWOT analysis  enables the students for cost consciousness of each and every business operations.

  • Programme provides the outcome of Accounting, Banking, Cost Accounting,  Management Accounting, Financial Management, Marketing Management,Financial  Sercices, Human Resource Management in the Commerce.
  • Programme has opened the floodgates in the eve of software application jobs in the eve  of trade Commerce, Business, Banking, and Insurance and in related eve of business. Self-employment confidences development 
  • Students will get the practical skill to work as accountant, audit assistant, Tax consultant  and computer operators, As well as financial supporting services.

CAREER PROSPECTS:

B.Com Accounts and finance degree offers huge benefits to the students such as strong job  prospects, high earning potential, diverse career paths, valuable skills and knowledge, and  opportunity for advancement. 

Pursuing a degree in accounting or finance can be a wise investment in the professional future.  These fields offer a wide range of career opportunities and high earning potential, making an  attractive choice. 

COST AND MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTANT– B.Com Accounts and finance students  acquire knowledge and make study and collect data to determine the cost of business activity  such as raw material purchases, inventory, labour, etc. They also suggest changes to policies &  procedures to increase organisation’s cash flow. 

CHARTERED ACCOUNTANT– B.Com Accounts and finance graduates can specialize, analyse and provide information/ report on the financial performance of the company for better  business decisions. They can focus on areas including financial reporting, taxation, corporate  finance, business recovery as well as insolvency. 

FORENSIC ACCOUNTANT- Graduates can use a combination of accountancy and detective  skills to investigate financial discrepancies and faults. They will be employed by public  accounting firms, consulting firms (specialising in risk consulting & forensic accounting  services), insurance companies, law enforcement agencies, government organisations, financial  institutions, etc to resolve disputes or assist in fraud investigations.

PUBLIC ACCOUNTANT- B.Com Accounts and finance graduates can work as a Public  accountants who can make financial recommendations, and perform taxes, audits, consultation,  and accounting services for accounting firms, government organisations, individuals, etc. Their  main responsibilities will be maintaining financial records and audits for investors and banks. 

TAX ACCOUNTANT-B.Com Accounts and finance graduates can assist clients to companies  to produce tax return documents that adhere to the laws and regulations. These graduates also use  their knowledge to help create a financial plan for the clients to increase savings and avoid  penalties. They may hold a permanent in-house position with businesses and work for payroll  service providers, accounting firms, government agencies, insurance companies, and financial  firms, or are even self-employed. 

AUDITOR- Graduates can explore careers in auditor or reviewer user, his analytical skills to  review financial statements, Accounting systems, fiscal records, etc to ensure that the companies  have an accurate account of their financial information. They help companies in resolving issues,  if any, and make sure they do not recur in future. 

FINANCE MANAGER– B.Com Accounts and finance graduates can work as a finance  manager manages and can make finances of an organisation to help ensure its continued  viability. Graduates supervise some important functions in the firm such as managing capital and  monitoring cash flow, determining profitability, allocation, and utilisation of financial resources,  managing expenses, etc. 

ACCOUNT MANAGER– Graduates can become Account managers and strategic partners and  advisors to the clients who work together for a mutual benefit. These graduates manage to retain  top customers, and nurture this relationship over time. With their excellent communication and  organisational skills, they act as an interface between a company and the customer. 

FINANCIAL CONTROLLER– A financial controller is essentially a company’s lead  accountant and has an expansive responsibility for the entire accounting process. They are  responsible for providing accurate and timely company records, managing IT, insurance, sales  tax reporting, federal income taxes, etc.

FINANCE DIRECTOR B.Com Accounts and finance graduates may become senior finance  professional who is involved in developing and implementing financial policies and procedures  to optimise and maximise the return of the company’s financial assets. It is the second highest  position in finance after the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of a firm
