The Department of Naval Architecture and Offshore Engineering of VELS Institute of Science Technology and Advanced Studies (VISTAS) has a vision to establish itself as a centre of excellence in Naval Architecture and Offshore Engineering Programme for producing well qualified graduate engineers capable of meeting the challenging and ever-expanding needs of development and management of world class shipbuilding/ Offshore Industry.

Mission

The mission of the department is

• To educate, motivate and prepare  students to know the fundamental and technical skillsin Naval Architecture and Offshore Engineering through effective teaching learning methodologies.
• To make students  imbibe professional and ethical standards  by means of continuous learning and professional activities.
• To impart  employability skills to  students to be  industry- ready with  implant training and industrial visits.
• To create entrepreneurship skills by means of industrial collaborations and mentoring.
• To encourage students to undertake R&D activities for  societal needs with high ethical standards.
