The workshop on “Intellectual Property Rights” brought together panelists from across the various scientific fields to share their insights on different domains of intellectual property. It provides a platform to discuss about the rights given to persons over their creations and recent intellectual property and development issues, as well as how best to benefit from the IP system. 

            It mainly focuses on the importance of patents, designs, and other intellectual property components to the faculty members. Experts from central and state government agencies, the patent office in Chennai, and a senior patent consultant are delivering their talks on the importance of IPR, the process of filing patents, and how to search for patents online. This workshop sheds insight into the forms associated with the process of filing patents and the prerequisites for filling these forms. Participants elaborated on the various tools and platforms available for searching the patents online. It improves participants’ knowledge and skills about patents and how to determine whether their innovative idea is patentable or not.
